Wow! First I'd like to say that the Seller was amazing! I had an issue with the condition of the book because it wasn't packaged in a book box. A few tiny tears in the dust jacket but I am very picky about my books & only buy new or "like new" condition. I contacted seller & within 2 hrs they responded, apologized, & issued a full refund but let me keep the book.The book is WONDERFUL! Lots of pics, easy to read, amazing stories so far. Very happy!

This is an excellent record of how the Animal Corps of the military was developed. And, the depictions of the service of individual dogs, pigeons, horses, and a cat speaks volumes of the unlimited skills, commitment to duty, and devotion to their human partners. It has to defy any attitudes of "Well, it's just rote training of a dumb animal." I have never had any problem with accepting that animals have the ability to think and that they can show emotion. There are very many testimonies in the book to support such a view.

I love my books and am somewhat nervous about buying used books. I handle my own books with reverence. This book is in excellent shape. I couldn't be happier if it were new. Two adjacent pages had tiny folded corners but upon inspection, I believe they came from the printers like that,

The item arrived in excellent condition, as promised. It's a great tool for getting children interested in history by talking about the animals that were involved. Then you can proceed on to individuals and reasons for the conflict.

I could eagerly read an entire book about the heroes featured in every chapter. Robin Hutton kept me spellbound with each page. Her writing masterfully presents the valor and uniqueness possessed by these war animal. Thank you, Robin, for stirring my heart with your telling of animals' service and dedication to mankind.
