Just got this today and I like the layout of it. I’m excited to use it! The only take away is that I wish that it had more pages and a little more room to write in it

Just threw the book away

This Journal is well thought out and very detailed. It's meant to properly help you help yourself achieve your goals. There is a detailed section to have you write done goals, and how you want to accomplish them. Then their are pages on you initial health, weight, body size, even your mental state, and your level of activity. The main section is on weekly food and exercise diary, plus other factors. You write in the details and it has a place to record medications, liquid intake, meals and snacks. A note place on the side of each category that I used to put approximate calories.I know people who live with their smart phones have some apps that do similar, the best ones of those cost money to use. I'm not a big smart phone user as my phone is somewhat outdated, and like books, I prefer a lot of things in paper, so this journal is just for me. Actually using it is helping, and in a way maybe more than those apps could. By writing out my meal consumption, I find I'm conscious of what I eat, and what I've already consumed that day. It's easier to cut myself off, and limit snacks to smaller portions this way. Plus, plan for treats and larger meals to limit my calorie intake, and especially my carbs. I've replaced soda with Rooibos tea, and low calories vegetable juice blends. It seems to be going well. If I get off track, I'm reminded constantly because I have to record the sins, so it makes it easier to get back on program, and not develop food consumption amnesia like many times when you go way off your diet. Recommended, some advantages over diet apps, may not give you a database of the overall picture in fine detail, but will keep you focussed on your daily consumption and activity, which may be better in the long run.

Apps are great for tracking points or calories, but sometimes it's just nice to sit with pen and journal in hand, and write down and reflect on your diet progress. I'm on WW, and of course I use their app. But I find this journal helpful with meal planning, tracking calories, and setting goals. I also use it to track my water intake each day and to motivate me to exercise more. The journal provides plenty of room for meal plans or recording what you eat, plus an area to reflect on how your day went. You can also track how many hours sleep you get each night, and whether you've taken your medication/supplements. I found it quite motivating to sit down and think everything through to write in the journal each day.

I'd gotten sidetracked after the holiday season and had been slow to get back to my goals. This #DietGoals Journal proved helpful. First, I wasn't sure why I would need a specialized journal instead of a blank notebook or a dieting app. But I found the organization of the journal helped me set measurable goals and a starting point. By recording sleep, water, activity, mood as well as the food intake I have a fuller idea of my starting point. There are weekly check-ins and 4 week check-ins to give you a chance to see your progress. The journal also emphasizes positivity and has some motivating statements which help with slow progress. Overall, I think that this journal will help me get back to my goals by keeping track and writing down the steps that I take.
