The first such team to take the field will be No. 4 Ohio State on Thursday, when the Buckeyes travel to face P.J. Fleck's Minnesota squad in Minneapolis. It will be the debut for new quarterback C.J. Stroud, who takes over for arguably the most talented quarterback in school history in Justin Fields. Speaking of much-heralded quarterback debuts, how about the battle between No. 1 Alabama's Bryce Young and No. 14 Miami's D'Eriq King in Atlanta? The Tide may be favored, but both quarterbacks on paper look like they can put up points on anybody.

As exciting as those games are, it's clear what the big-ticket item is this weekend: No. 5 Georgia vs. No. 3 Clemson in Charlotte, N.C. That game will have massive College Football Playoff ramifications for both teams, win or lose. The winner could very well have its invitation to the Playoff sealed; the loser is behind the eight ball all season. Look for Kirby Smart and Dabo Swinney to have their teams ready for this one. Fun fact: Georgia hasn't lost a season opener since losing to the Tigers in Clemson, S.C. in 2013; the Tigers' last such loss came a year later, when the Bulldogs returned the favor in Athens, Ga.

All those games and more await fans this week. Take a deep breath: College football is back.

In the SEC, it just means more. And in 2021, that includes more ways for fans to watch games online without the need for a cable subscription.

College football's most powerful Power 5 conference has no shortage of online streaming services for fans to keep up with their favorite teams, from Bowling Green at Tennessee on Sept. 2 to the SEC Championship game on Dec. 4 — and nearly everything else in between.

In 2018, the Big 12 announced its current slogan: “Every Game Matters.” That will certainly be the case this season in a competitive conference lineup.

For the sixth straight year, No. 2 Oklahoma was picked to win the league title in the Big 12 Football Preseason Poll. However, the Sooners will have sturdy competition within their conference, most notably against No. 7 Iowa State, which returns 19 starters including senior quarterback Brock Purdy.

No. 18 Iowa, which won its final six games last season, will also look to make a splash in the conference along with No. 21 Texas, which is entering its first season under head coach Steve Sarkisian.

The Big 12 does not have any other teams ranked in the AP Top 25, though Oklahoma State ranked just outside the poll with 107 votes and TCU had the third-most votes outside of the Top 25 at 40.

With Oklahoma sophomore quarterback Spencer Rattler and Texas sophomore running back Bijan Robinson headlining the league, the Big 12 should have no shortage of eye-popping moments this season. Thankfully, you don’t have to miss any of them!
