Tonight is the night big-time boxing returns to Northeast Ohio. And, as a surprise to just about everyone, it’s all led by Jake Paul. How to watch Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley: Live stream, how to order PPV, start time, fight card

With just three professional fights, Paul has become one of the biggest names in boxing. But this will be his toughest test yet. Woodley is one of the greatest MMA welterweights of all time known for his big right hand. Coverage of Sunday’s event begins with a pre-show at 7 p.m., followed by the pay-per-view card at 8 p.m.

The road to Paul vs. Woodley began at the former’s last fight against MMA veteran Ben Askren. Woodley, a friend and training partner of Askren’s, got into a confrontation with Paul backstage. After Paul knocked out Askren, the seeds were planted for an even bigger showdown.

The war of words between Woodley and Paul has been intense. Tempers flared during a press conference this week when a member of Paul’s crew trash-talked Woodley’s mother. The former MMA star had to be held back as he threatened Paul’s entire team.

Despite Woodley’s MMA background, Paul is the favorite heading into Sunday’s eight-round main event. According to most betting sites, Paul is the favorite at -190, which means you would have to wager $190 to see a profit of $100. Woodley is a +148 underdog, meaning a wager of $100 wager would earn you a $148 profit.

There are other fights on Sunday’s card, including a battle featuring Cleveland native Montana Love. Amanda Serrano will also take on Yamileth Mercado with the unified Women’s Featherweight titles on the line:

Jake Paul -190 vs. Tyron Woodley +160

Amanda Serrano (c) -2000 vs. Yamileth Mercado +1000

Daniel Dubois -2000 vs. Joe Cusumano +1000

Montana Love vs. Ivan Baranchyk

Tommy Fury -1500 vs. Anthony Taylor +850

Paul and Woodley are expected to make their walks to the ring around 10:30 p.m., depending on how long the earlier fights last. Their fight should begin around 11 p.m.

The event, put on by Showtime, will feature an all-star broadcast team including Paul’s older brother Logan as a guest commentator. Veteran sportscaster Brian Custer and combat sports voice Mauro Ranallo will handle play-by-play alongside Boxing Hall of Fame analyst Al Berstein. Well-known MMA journalist Ariel Helwani will provide analysis from ringside.

Boxing Hall of Famer Jimmy Lennon Jr. will handle in-ring announcing with Cleveland artist E-V manning the turntables throughout the entire event.

Fans can watch Paul vs. Woodley live on FITE TV pay-per-view for $59.99 or via Showtime PPV.

Paul has gone 3-0 with three knockouts in his young boxing career by taking out AnEsonGib, Nate Robinson and Ben Askren in short order. But unlike his previous opponents, Woodley is, by far, the best striker of the bunch and demonstrated his skills during his UFC career where he held the UFC welterweight title with seven of his 19 wins coming by way of knockout.

The fight came together quickly after Paul and Woodley were involved in a run-in backstage before Paul dispatched of Askren. Woodley called Paul out for a fight immediately afterward, and Paul accepted. With Paul leaving Triller and signing with Showtime, the fight will end up headlining Showtime PPV in August at an agreed upon weight of 190 pounds.

The 24-year-old Paul has demonstrated solid boxing ability in his short tenure as a professional fighter. However, he has yet to face an opponent as skilled with their hands as Woodley. The 39-year-old Woodley has had an impressive run in MMA that included an undefeated stretch from 2014-18 when he captured the welterweight title with a stunning first-round knockout of Robbie Lawler. Woodley has fallen on tough times lately with losses in four straight fights and is no longer with the UFC.
