I now live alone at age 89 after having lost the love of my life in 2009. Since that time I have read literally hundreds of M/M romances. Few have moved me more deeply than "Running From My Heart."Tragedy has taken its toll on the lives of both Ross and Arden, a movie director and an author, respectively. Neither believes that life offers much incentive any longer. Each, seeking escape from the memories and heartbreak of death and separation, finds himself in upstate New York in neighboring lakeside cabins.Ross, the more outgoing of the two initially, seeks to cultivate a friendship with his neighbor but Arden is not so willing to engage in socializing, preferring to waller in the despair that has entered his world and destroyed his joy of living. Yet, Ross persists until Arden gives in accepts Ross' offer of friendship and companionship.As their stories unfold and as their relationship begins to materialize, there is laughter, sorrow, beauty and joy. Theirs is a story of hope as well as the realization that life and love need not cease when seemngly endless grief caused by separation fills most of their waking moments. The ways in which each becomes the foundation of support and love, that the other so desperately needs, is heartwarming beyond measure. Secondary characters and a pair of ospreys have significant roles throughout.This is a story I will re-read. I hope you will read it at least once.

I was leery reading this book due to the subject matter. Loss of love and grief are hard to deal with at times. But I forged ahead and found this touching story too good to put down. Your heartstrings will be pulled. You will cry - and you will laugh. And you will love. But isn’t that what life is all about?

There is nothing that Felice Stevens has written that I didn’t enjoy and this one is up there in the top 5. My heart broke for Arden and Ross at the beginning but the more they moved into the relationship I was cheering them on till the end! I had a few smiles, a laugh or two and most of all a lot of tears for these two as they both healed their broken hearts with each other! This is the 3rd of the series and I would start with Justin and Foster’s story! I can’t wait for the next story in this series!

Extremely well written story about two men struggling to let go of their past and move into the future. Their journey is about letting go of the guilt, misconceptions and the pain so they can recognize the beauty of life and a second chance for love. Loved it!

I love Felice’s books. They’re so emotional and passionate. She a great author for that sweet romantic love story you love to snuggle up on the couch and dive into. You can’t help but smile and swoon and even plush a whole lot while reading her books.This book / series was the perfect example of that. I loved it and hope there’s more, maybe even a spinoff.
