Weekend Warriors (Sisterhood Book 1) by Fern Michaels

Read Online and Download Weekend Warriors (Sisterhood Book 1) by Fern Michaels. First in the New York Times bestselling series featuring fierce female vigilantes—includes a bonus Sisterhood chapter and an interview with Fern Michaels! Life isn’t fair. Most women know it. But what can you do about it? Plenty . . . if you’re part of the Sisterhood. On the surface, these seven women are as different as can be—but each has had her share of bad luck, from cheating husbands to sexist colleagues to a legal system that often doesn’t do its job. Now, drawn together by tragedy, they’re forging a bond that will help them right the wrongs committed against them and discover an inner strength they didn’t know they had. Growing bolder with each act of justice, the Sisterhood is learning that when bad things happen, you can roll over and play dead . . . or you can get up fighting . . . “Readers will enjoy seeing what happens when well-funded, very angry women take the law into their own hands.”—Booklist  Series praise  “Readers looking for an updated Charlie’s Angels in ‘wild women’ mode will be most satisfied.”—Publishers Weekly on Lethal Justice  “Spunky women who fight for truth, justice, and the American way.”—Fresh Fiction on Final Justice “Delectable . . . deliver[s] revenge that’s creatively swift and sweet, Michaels-style.”—Publishers Weekly on Hokus Poku

Weekend Warriors (Sisterhood Book 1) by Fern Michaels Review

I had just read "Home Sweet Home" and "Fearless" and was waiting on more pre-orders so I decided to read "Cut and Run" again. I thought I had read every book ever written by Fern Michaels but in the back of the book was the prelude to "Weekend Warrior's". I thought I had read it but I started reading it and Barbara was alive, I always assumed she died when she was younger. I realized I had NEVER read the FIRST SISTERHOOD book. I downloaded it immediately and have spent my Sunday totally engrossed in this couldn't put it down book. I found out so much about Myra, Lexie, Barbara and what changed everything and how the vigilantes were started. I learned how these complete strangers came together to form this Sisterhood, the friendships and how to depend on each other. Knowing Kathryn's story, which I never knew has helped me understand her character throughout the series so much better. I loved her action for revenge, it was so fitting for the crimes against her. If you haven't read this book it is a must read to go with the series. Absolutely loved it!!!!!

This was a book club selection or I wouldn’t have finished reading. I didn’t think it was well written. What a horrible way to go through the life seeking revenge. Perhaps these women should have counseling and gone onto productive lives.

The characters were carricatures who reacted to everything with the worst dialog from a bad Hollywood flick. I kept putting it down in disbelief, only to forget and pick it back up expecting it to somehow be a decent book. Nope. There were no spelling or grammar errors though. The only thing I can think of for the high rating is folks are so used to unedited crappy writing that well-edited crappy writing is a delight.

This is the first book in the interesting Sisterhood series about a group of women who form an alliance to mete out vigilante justice to those who have committed seriously heinous crimes against all of them. This particular book, Weekend Warriors, is about specifically avenging Kathryn Lucas who was brutally raped nearly a decade ago during a truck run while her disabled husband, Alan, helplessly watched. What I liked most about the book is the theme: the idea of actually being able to dish out revenge to criminals who pretty much got away with murder due to loop holes in the justice system. There's no shortage of time, money, brains and skills involved in this operation. It's good to see a bunch of nefarious characters get their just due, instead of living out the rest of their lives in luxury on ill-gotten money, besides getting away with other crimes such as domestic violence. Some things that I didn't like about the book included the rape scenario which I know is common-place in real life. It seemed a bit too graphic. I also felt that the three rapists in the story got off easy when the girls eventually captured them, though, it was slightly understandable because of the innocent wives and children involved. Also, Jack Emery, the boyfriend of Nicole Quinn, one of the women in the Sisterhood, acted like a persistent douchebag when he refused to back off a case that he was prosecuting which Nicole was also defending.Overall, this was a really interesting story. I'll be reading Lethal Justice next to see what happens to Alexis Thorn's case. She was once a successful securities broker, and spent a hellish year behind bars for being the scapegoat for a crime that her former company actually committed. That should be an interesting book. If you like suspense, action, undercover/spy-like scenarios, and revenge in the making, then this book is for you. Who knew that this book and the others in the series (about 20 of them) existed (originally published in 2003)? In any case, I'm glad that I discovered the existence of this book. Highly recommended.

I tried reading this book, but had to give up. I normally really like the author's works...but this book was just too far out for it to be at all believable. Plus, I do not believe in vigilante justice.
