Kidney Failure to Kidney Transplantation: A Patient Guide (Stopping Kidney Disease(tm)) by Fahad Aziz

Read Online and Download Kidney Failure to Kidney Transplantation: A Patient Guide (Stopping Kidney Disease(tm)) by Fahad Aziz. This book is written by transplant care experts, Dr. Sandesh Parajuli and Dr. Fahad Aziz, transplant nephrologists with the University of Wisconsin, one of the largest and most successful transplant programs in the country. Dr. Parajuli and Dr. Aziz have written this book to help educate patients who may have questions about: * The decision to pursue the transplant option * The transplant process * How transplant recipients are selected * What factors go into transplant decisions * Care of transplanted kidneys * Success stories and more Many times as patients, we have more questions than answers and need a reliable and factual source for decisions that impact our lives. Getting educated is always the right answer and patients should clearly understand all of their treatment options. This book is an accurate and clear guide to help educate those who have received a kidney transplant, those in need of a kidney transplant, and the general population with an interest in kidney transplantation. If we know one thing from our work with kidney patients it is: Educated patients live longer and better lives. It is always worth the time to get educated on your treatment options.

Kidney Failure to Kidney Transplantation: A Patient Guide (Stopping Kidney Disease(tm)) by Fahad Aziz Review

The scariest part of dealing with chronic disease is often feeling that you simply do not comprehend everything that is happening with your body, and can't grasp what the future may hold, and what you focus on is devastating. This is written by doctors FOR lay people. It avoids doctor-speak, and finds ways to explain terminology that anyone can understand, with the goal of helping individuals take a more active role in their own health decisions. Probably the most uplifting part of the book for me is the passage written by a transplant recipient. That passage provides a unique focus to surviving with kidney disease. Thank you for leaving us with such a positive message.

A short read but quite informative on the subject matter. The doctors/authors kept the audience in mind - written in layman's language so a person with non-medical background (majority of the patients/parties) can read and easily digest the information. The book does a good job in preparing the patient party with a list of questions for their doctor's visit. Definitely one of the books to be considered/included in for patients/parties by their doctors.

This book is a superb simple but very informative book and explains the non technical people the options available for kidney failures. If you are looking for a book for either your family, relatives or friends, who are going through kidney issues or you would like to learn about it , please look into this. Drs Aziz and Parajuli have written this book for people with basic knowledge about kidney failures and treatments available.

With its easy to understand language, this book is a go to book for the patients and their families for a simpler perspective and understanding of the complex issues of kidney diseases. For the medical students and professionals this book can become quite handy for a quick reference.Great work Dr. Parajuli and Dr. Aziz!

What a great resource for patients and families going through this process! I work with patients with renal failure undergoing evaluation for kidney transplant, and I will be recommending this book to all of them.
