Wild Wolf by Fel Fern Review
Gel Fern is an auto buy for me. Unfortunately because I read so much sometimes one book right after another I don't always write up my reviews immediately. I read this book on November 25th, but since I'm on vacation I'm able to get around to writing and typing up my review. Luckily I take notes as I read. But some books are so memorable I don't need my notes.I like reading about tough, feisty, Omegas and the Alphas who support them. There are of course many traditionalist who believe the Omega does what's best for the pack. He doesn't question he just does what he's told. This was not Wesley! An Alpha challenge leaves him at the mercy of a cruel brutal Alpha. Escape! That's all he can do. It's not easy or safe he actually ends up in greater danger - lethal trouble. Wesley never imagined being in the clutches of a nearly feral Wolf. Talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire. And he still was being pursued by old and new members of his pack.This book is action packed and be warned quite violent at times.
I totally loved this book, although, the beginning started out a bit sad, the consequences lead Wes straight to Owen, a wolf that was close to becoming savage. Once they mated, they worked together on finding a way to save Wes's pack from a very cruel and uncaring alpha. I enjoyed seeing them fall in love. The plot was gripping with lots of action and best of all, love and passion. I was totally immersed in the story. Excellently done. =)
While I appreciate that problems are solved in a capable and adult manner without any of that misunderstanding bs, everyone is a TOUCH dramatic for no reason and you end up feeling like you're reading a high school play.
As Omega Wolf Shifter Wes watched the new Alpha Roman play with Clay his old Alpha and the man who had been like a father to him since his parents had died he was scared. Then Derek the Beta tells him he had arranged for Roman to come and challenge Clay plus had offered Wes as added incentive he knew he had to escape. As Clay lay dying Wes went to him and was surprised when Clay whispered to him that he must run to Red Rocks a remote area of the pack territory and remind him he owed Clay a favor. Wes buries Clay then runs but he is seen leaving and two wolves chase him. to try and escape them he enters a small cave and follows the tunnel as it gets too narrow for the other wolves. After one dead end he finally emerges into the open but shortly after is attack by a bear shifter who has gone Savage and lost his human side. As he tries fight him off but knowing he will die a huge dark red wolf enters the fray and manages to kill the bear. He turns back into his human form and introduces himself as Owen.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The man who raised, Wesley, Clay was challenged by Roman Chase, who legally won the pack by killing Clay. Derek, was Clay's 2nd. Wes was suspicouls at Derek's calmness and how Roman knew of Bridgewood. Wes concluded, Derek invited Roman. Derek felt the pack needed new leadership. With his last breath, Clay gave Wes final instructions to run and find help because Roman is a monster. Wes, runs is attacked by a savage bear, Jackson and rescued by a wolf, Owen. Owen was former Paranormal Spec Ops. We don't get a lot of background of the pack or neighboring packs or even the dynamics of the pack. Can Owen help Wes? Will Wes find his way back? Does Roman give Derek what he thinks he wants? Does Roman live down to Clay's expectations? Does Wes return to pack? Nice story. I wish it was longer and went into pack dynamics more. Lots of adventure and complicated relationships. Nice. I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarly leaving a review.
