The Aztec Alphas (Book 3): Twin Souls by F.R D'Angelo Review

I went ahead and gave this a 4.5 because the storyline itself is getting really good. Sad a lot of the times, but it’s got a good plot going on. However, I almost gave it a lower rating because whoever proofread this, needs to do so again. There are errors everywhere in this story that cause a lot of confusion.Also, in this story, there may be a few triggers. There is talk of the old times, which deals with rape, kidnapping, being tested and more in human labs, PTSD and much more. So be careful if any of that is a problem for you.Azkin and Zain are doing their best to run this ever growing pack. Delegating where the ancestors show them and who would be the best at taking care of certain things, stuff on the packlands seem to be running smoothly for the most part. Until a beloved new omega tries to challenge Az for Zain. And it doesn’t go well. As soon as Az gets Jewel to submit, Jewel realizes what he’s done and he’s making a run for it, he’s so ashamed. But when Az had him down, he smelled something on Jewel and immediately knew, it wasn’t Jewel’s fault and Jewel needed to be healed. And come to find out, more of the omegas from the ones the rescued have been hurt as well, but they don’t find out the cause of what is going on until Az almost loses Zain. With the ancestors help, Az finds out what the problem is and they heal Zain in time. But it was close. And now they are finding out, omegas that are pregnant may lose their cubs and other omegas may never have any. When they find the traitors in the mix, two have to die and the other two, they find out, were going against orders to save the omegas and the babies. But now there’s a human lab that are holding more omegas and cubs and experimenting on them and they have to find them and take them down. But they know they don’t have much time and this is going to take the biggest toll on them. And they are running ragged already.This was a hard story on so many in this pack. The cruelty and pain caused to these omegas and the babies. What Az himself had to do to some babies himself, will never leave him or those who had to watch. But it’s more than that. Traitors in their midst and they didn’t know. The children have had all they can take and it’s taking a toll on their little minds. Az and Zain are being pushed hard. As well as the alphas and the protectors. Because they are trying to shoulder the loads for so many while getting housing up and things built for this ever growing pack. It’s just becoming too much for everyone and it’s not surprising that some have panic attacks or snap out at others. It’s a harder story than that of the other two. It’s more emotional on so many deep levels. The levels of evil and depravity that they are trying to heal and help and make better. And it’s so draining and it’s harder on them to bounce back. But they are trying. That’s what’s important. They are sticking together as a family and moving forward. Doing little things they can to make it better. Because it’s fixing to be real bad.

The continuation from the two previous books “Aztec Alphas #1” & “Aztec Alphas #2” into this one “Twin Souls” is smooth & flawless & I really enjoyed reading this Mpreg shifter romance. The well-paced plot is intriguing & well-written. The characters are well-developed & interesting. There are some character crossovers from previous books so the reader is kept quite well-informed. There is good support from the secondary characters.There is: two Aztec alphas (Azkin) & (Zain) determined to save shifters, a Aztec council, guardians/protectors, federal agents, a scientist shifter squad, traitors, some twists, drama, intrigue, suspense, secrets, magic, tentative agreements, humor, pack issues, laboratories, scientists, unethical experiments, prophecies, magic, special abilities, triad matings, manipulations, plans, conflict, violence, annoyance, devious plans, accusations, challenges, misunderstandings, compromises, some steamy scenes & a HFN conclusion.“I received a complimentary copy, and this is my honest & voluntary opinion”

This is the third book in a great story, but you really need to read the first two books to fully understand and enjoy this one. You also need to be able to turn a blind eye to proof-reading issues. There are more than there should be, but if you get past that, it is an exciting story with engaging characters. I love Zain and Azkin, and the honeymoon idea to relax was sweet. But the prophecy isn't done with them yet. There is still more tension, suspense, magic, mystery, and drama to come. Riveting story with great characters and I am eager to see what happens next.I received an ARC and have voluntarily left this honest review.

voluntary review of arcAztec Alphas Twin Souls is the third book in this series by author F.R. D’Angelo. I am not a fan of the style of writing in this series. Sometimes it works, other times it is very confusing. Also, the amount of information in the books is great and overwhelming at the same time. This is not a light read. This series is for when you have time to sink into a story and really think about it.Zain and Azkin finally are getting a honeymoon. They really do need some down time after all they have gone through. They really need this. This is not a standalone story we meet characters from books one and two in this story. I particularly liked that; can see how they are now. Also, the story line itself continues from book one and two.There are new enemies and new conflicts introduced. I can see there being more additions to this series in the future. Overall a good addition to the series and worth the read. Four Twinkling Stars

This is the third part of The Aztec Alphas: Twin Souls. You do need to read the first two parts before this book. An intriguing book with good writing. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters likeable. The characters were developed and thought out. Azkin and Zain are the MC’s of this book and mates. There are other good secondary characters. I can recommend this book as a good read. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
