The Vanishing Medium: A Sherlock and Lucy Short Story (The Sherlock and Lucy Mystery Series Book 14) by Charles Veley Review

As indicated in the blurb, "The Vanishing Medium" is part two of the 'season finale' for the short story series. I trust that you have already finished reading "The Sons of Helios."Once again, Dr. John Watson and Lucy James provide their own points of view in this tale. You will no doubt recognize the Holmesian method of navigating the twists and turns that involve murder and the monied of London's elite. The ending here is a bit of a surprise.I am hoping (or at least guessing) that there will be more stories about the latest nemesis of Holmes and company… perhaps a novel, or even a continuation of the short story series.If you grew up reading Sherlock Holmes, you will certainly want to add these books to your library.

Another great mystery following the Sherlock Holmes style. I love the fact that the author uses the human touch with humor in the characters.

A much better read although still disappointed that Holmes and the rest haven't yet got to the mastermind.A fake medium, a new will and a possible threat to the life of an elderly woman. Lucy is asked by the sister (see previous book) to investigate a medium that has developed a hold over her elderly aunt. An aunt that is found dead when Holmes and Watson go to see her and the only previous visitor was the medium. Can they work out what happened? A dead body in the river, the arrest of our two runaways and a shooting. Who will remain alive at the end?

I waited to download this book at the same time as "The Sons of Helios" as they were supposed to be Part 1 and 2 of the same story. With both being such short episodes, I felt it would be easier to stay connected to the plot. Unfortunately, "The Vanishing Medium" ends with a cliff hanger. So apparently, there will be a Part 3.

This is another fast read that does answer the questions from the last book. Shepherd sons sister asks for help as her aunt is falling under the control of a fortune teller. They dig into the mystery which becomes a murder and a very surprise ending. I look forward to reading the next book
