Miami Beach Missing (A Miami Beach Florida Suspense Series Book 1) by Chase Waters Review

Some difficult and really horrible people doing awful things to helpless people was enough to make me want quit reading the novel but the plot kept me reading.

Its not the worst book i have read, its a close second. It would be a great example on what not to do. The author spends too much time on internal character thoughts. In w well written novel they develop the story and the character. This authors characters go off on tangents like a 90 year old with alzheimers who cant make up his mind about anything. The characters make idiotic unrealistic decisions. The author has limited knowlege of police procedures, florida law and constantly inserts his mundane politics into the narrative. It was a tortuous slog to get through the book. The plot moved slowly, and was terribly predictible. Some slow books eventually get going and end spectacularly. The ending is just laughable. I can say there was one good thing about the novel. At least it wasnt 1000 pages. It was truly a relief to escape the torture I experienced reading this book.

It was a good read. It was very long. I ended up skipping so many passages, paragraphs, and sometimes even pages.There was way too much other stuff.Only way I could say it.I didn’t want to read about what Austin did so many times before.Those parts go so boring.Good thing is only one error/mistake.Carmen texted when they left the hospital, he wrote Maria texted, when Maria was sitting in the car with him.Good book, could have been so much better, probably half as long. Yes that much could be cut out of it.If was shorter, I would give it four stars.

Austin is a former FBI profiler who was spiraling down ward until Mia pulls him into working with her in a new PI business. Their first case was on a live webcam of three women being tortured and held together somewhere in Miami Beach. Austin thinks the police should work this case until police corruption and false leads shows them that to believe it has to be him and Mia. As the two have to search the dark web it gets to where they have to hurry and one girl is killed on the webcam. Will they solve the case in time? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Decent plot but too many distractions that prevented me from getting into the book as I usually do. Distractions such as mispelled words, missing words, wrongly identified character speaking and the funniest to me was when Austin was described getting ready for Janey's funeral as "he got out his pants and coat, a black pair of shoes and a grey tie" or something like that but NO SHIRT,,,,,I could just imagine him walking into a packed funeral wearing a grey tie and no shirt.
