The story continues with danger, excitement, and intrigue. Myrrh continues to be a strong hero in her innocence, and the beat goes on ... ! Anxiously awaiting the next book!

I received this novel as an ARC from Ms. Summers. Thank you!This series has been enjoyable so far. The novels continues where the previous book left off. Most of the novel is centered on Myrrh trying to save the man she loves, Glint (aka Dominick). Myrrh has several enemies and creates more of them. Myrrh gets betrayed by someone she believed she could trust in her syndicate when several of her people are taken. Myrrh makes a deal with Silver, who has her own agenda and none of it good. Nab continues to develop his skills from Skorry, which causes tension between him and Myrrh, since he is very talented. Myrrh needs to get Glint out of prison before he is executed and keep Ostgard safe. She will use whatever she has at her disposal to save Glint. There is still honor among thieves, even those who are criminals, but there are those who want to control Ostgard due to their own desires of greed and power. In Myrrh’s attempts to save Glint, what is truly being unleashed?

Carrie Summers has been at the top of my author faves list ever since I discovered her incredible Stonehaven League series, which is probably the best LitRPG series published. No surprise then that I had to try her Chronicles of a Cutpurse series when its first book (Mistress of Thieves) came out, and no surprise again that this talented author struck gold again. Now we are up to book 4 in that series, Empress of Rogues. Myrrh is back and she’s out to rescue Glint, the man she loves, before he is executed in nine days for a crime she committed (though Glint’s not exactly an innocent waif it a guy). This is no easy task and we readers get a fabulous (perfectly plotted and well written) story out of it that’s full of magic, adventure, action and intrigue, set in the perfect location for this sort of tale (the city of Ostgard with its different classes, tensions and corruption) and populated with great characters that are superbly crafted, both friends and enemies (hello Silver; I may hate you but you’re still a wonderful character). But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.

Another satisfying chapter in Myrrh's adventures. I love this series, the grit of the world, the way Myrrh's heart is so big and she tries so hard to be good while being a thief, and the way she looks after Nab and is charmed by Glint. The pair of them have both a compelling love story (though the moments they have together are few and far between and Myrrh spends most of her time rescuing him from the consequences of his grand ideas) with believable chemistry and a take-on-the-world-and-make-it-better working relationship. They share a lot of the same ideals and disdain the same things which makes them fit so well together. Nab gets to come into his own in this book and save Myrrh for a change, and threads from previous books weave closer together revealing a bit more of a larger picture. There are many threads left at the end to leave room for more, and I can't wait to read it. I also love the way a lot of the strongest, most dangerous, most capable characters in this series are women, and the way they are always saving the men. It makes for a very satisfying dynamic.

Then she enhanced that world with intriguing characters and grand adventure with the slightest touch of romance.
