Seeking His Love (Bayside Treasures Series Book 1) by Carrie Turansky Review
Being falsely accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student sent Rachel Clark reeling and eventually running from Seattle. She settled in the art community of Fairhaven to run the youth drama program. At first, her worst problem is the grumpy frame shop owner. But she should have known that secrets don’t stay hidden for long and have a way of coming to surface at the worst time. As she realizes that Cam McKenna isn’t so grumpy after all, her situation becomes more precarious.I enjoyed this story and saw no errors as I read, although the beginning had too much conflict between Cam and Rachel for me. I also wish more of their inner thoughts were revealed. There were a few moments of this, but I would've liked to have seen more. I also thought their romance was pretty bland and never felt any deep attraction or caring. I gave it 4.5 stars, which rounded up to a five.
This was a sweet read that had several plot lines moving at the same time. When Rachel moves to town and is looking for a place to live, the apartment above Cam's was the last place she was interested in, only because they got off to such a rocky start in the shared arts space. Their relationship quickly turns into a friendship of sorts because Cam's niece moves in with him for the summer, and he knows nothing about 14 year old girls. While Cam is trying to be the best family member he can, Rachel is fighting her own battles, and Cam seems to make his way into them. Both Rachel and Cam find out that life is better if they work together.
Sweet love story with strong Christian values of forgiveness and resolving conflict. I enjoyed it so much that I read it straight through in one day.
Forgiveness is the theme, forgiveness of self and forgiveness of others. The characters were well drawn and seemed like neighbors and friends. Rachel's hurts were palpable as was Cam's pain. The victory was sweet for both of them. Great story!
This is a sweet love story with a message of forgiveness woven throughout -- forgiving others when they disappoint you and forgiving yourself when you're not perfect. Or at least that's what I needed to hear when I read it!Beautiful story with contemporary themes but a traditional feel. I loved it!
