"Hearts are beastly things."I have been impatiently waiting to get my hands on this book because I am a sucker for a fairy tale retelling. So without further adieu...my review.OMG. This is for sure not your classic children's fairy tale. It's more twisted and has more turns than anything I have read in a while. I actually couldn't put this book down.The characters were phenomenal. I loved reading about Carden, Arabella, Rule and Queen Coeur. Each of these characters were such an amazing part of the story, which kept me wanting to read more.The story-line was extremely addicting. Bond is a true storyteller by bringing for a slew of feelers in this magical fairy tale story. I was completely enchanted by the power of the words that flowed off of the pages of this book. Each turn within the story continued to get more twisted and addicting to read. I literally couldn't put this book down!! Each event was incredible and I never saw the outcome of the ending until the story and it's characters were ready to reveal it. I highly recommend this read!!
As a faithful reader of all things Casey L. Bond, I can attest that each and every book I read draws me in even more than the last!Each word and phrase is a new glimpse into her talent, with Brutal Curse seriously adding some emotion to the line up. All of Ms. Bond’s fairy tales are amazing, but she’s really outdone herself with Brutal Curse.Right away we are hit with an emotional prelude of just what happened to the Queen, and it does not stop for one page! As the book progresses, we are allowed glimpses into multiple character viewpoints and it adds so much to the building of the world.I absolutely suggest you read all of The authors work, you will have no regrets!~Dowie
Goodness Miss Bond knows how to suck you in and give you a wonderfully twisted ride of a read! Carden wasn't exactly my favorite character throughout this series but the moment that he stepped into this role I was rooted in him. Loving Arrabella comes easy but don't take her for easy, she's one tough cookie. I loved the unexpectedness of the games and how everything was going to play out and honestly that ending took me by surprise. Loved it is an understatement!
The title of Brutal Curse is aptly named because this book is effing BRUTAL!!! Eyes bugging out, nail biting, edge-of-your-seat, yelling HOLY CRAP ON A CRACKER!!! I felt like Mel B half the time from AGT yelling WHAT JUST HAPPENED!??!?!??! So many twists...It was epic. It was a major twist on Alice in Wonderland, but you could kind of see a little beauty and the beast in there. I'm not sure if that was intentional or not, but I saw it. And the ending was so so good!!! I can't wait to read the next book from her! 5 stars and 2 thumbs!! Actually, can I borrow some hands?? HA!
loved Carden and Arabella, staying together and working together to get them thru another day of the queens games. survive and your set free, if one dies the other dies! well written, flows really great, and when almost done, didn’t realize how far i’ve read! Really enjoyed this book, and her other books in this series!! Loved itâ¤ï¸
