The Fire Unseen: Book One of the Unseen (The Unseen Series 1) by Andrew C. Jaxson Review

I really like bed this book, well written and the suspense is killing me. I love Ari! I can not wait for the next installment.

Nicely done! Decent amount of twists and turns. Great character building; I really feel connected with them. Brilliant storyline! I night recommend!

Ari's world is about to be turned upside down and it's all going to begin with a blast and lots of death. The Fire Unseen by Andrew C. Jackson is the first book that I have read by this author and this book starts off with a BANG! I'm immediately hooked in as the author presents me with an intense scene and situation, but then the story slows down and I have to plod through it a bit. Ari is a teenager who should have died in a freak explosion, but she didn't. Others who were around her died, but she didn't. This is when she draws the attention of evil that is determined to destroy her. This story is engaging and interesting, but I think that her brief and quick recovery period slows the story down a bit, because there isn't much to really pull readers along except for their own determination to find out what happens next. I didn't like the "insta-love/attraction" that happens between her and Noah. He's the new guy in town, and she literally sees him ONE time and suddenly acting like she's in love. It's too much for me. She knows in one moment that she's rushing in her own mind, but then she seems to dismiss this too quickly. I didn't like it when she says that "she feels like she's cheating on him" with Josh when he and Josh have known each for years for one, and two she barely knew Noah in the first place and they weren't by any stretch of the imagination dating. As Ari learns about what she is, the people whom she is fighting against, and those she is fighting for the story does get better and more interesting. The author weaves in a few surprises here and there which helps to engage me more into the storyline. I'm interested to see what happens next.I am rating this book 4 out of 5 stars. It has a lot of potential and some good moments which I liked. My desire to learn what happened next pushed me to move forward through the slow spots, so if you get a bit bogged down just hang in there. It does get better.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

In this story, sixteen-year-old Maria (Ari) Carpenter miraculously survived an explosion. She discovers there is a supernatural world that she was unaware of and recruited to fight. This paranormal fantasy takes place in Australia. It is suitable for young adult readers.THE FIRE UNSEEN is a thrilling read. It was full of espionage, suspense, and unexpected twists. Ari is a likable heroine. She is brave and smart. She goes through a lot in a short amount of time.I enjoyed Andrew C Jaxson writing style. He did a nice job creating his setting. I like how he included history into the story. I will definitely continue following this series. I recommend this book to people who enjoy supernatural conspiracy novels. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

The Fire Unseen: Book One of the Unseen (The Unseen Series 1) Kindle Editionby Andrew C. JaxsonI received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This book had enough zigs, zags, twists and turns that it could make M. Night Shyamalan jealous. The basics of the plot seems to be a salute to Nikola Tesla, as it points to the famous story about his resonance machine nearly shaking a building apart. The story works around the concept of resonance, meaning that everything in the universe vibrates at a specific, unique frequency.Ari survives a car crash. This brings her to the attention of a super secret, super powered cabal, whose members can use resonance to do battle. She is one of them and joins them to save her family and her town.Sounds very simple? There are red herrings, multiple, tricky red herrings. There are double crosses, triple crosses and I think even a coupled quadruple crosses! The story is like a snowball going downhill, it starts at a good clip and ends up speeding down hill at the speed of imagination.Ari is a strong heroine, she was brave and able to focus at the most difficult of times. A couple of the males around her fare not as well. They at times come off a bit self-centered, smitten, and whiny. But the speed and the twisting paths the story and plot take are well worth putting up with the men.4 stars out of 5https://www.amazon.com/Fire-Unseen-Book-One-ebook/dp/B077BRYFW3
