Lonely Planet France 13 (Country Guide) by Alexis Averbuck,Anita Isalska,Christopher Pitts,Greg Ward Review

This is the last time I’ll ever try using a guidebook on my Kindle. It’s impossible to leaf through and the search function is not very precise. Want to glance at a transit map of Paris? Good luck! The only value I got from this book was reading the descriptions before I arrived somewhere. In the moment, I could not find anything I needed. Sacrifice the space and save frustration — get a hard copy!

The book is missing information. There is nothing about Cap d'Agde, which is a very touristic town in the South of France. The book is heavy, and have lots of thing that are not important. It seems that Lonely Planet should pay more attention. Bought the book and did not take it to my trip. Had to buy another one.

We used this guide on our recent trip to France. It's a very useful mix of information, describing the most interesting places and primary sites, but also full of practical tips. Covering the entire country obviously forces some compromises on what to include. We used it in Lyon and Provence and found the restaurant recommendations quite reliable. The maps are useful until you can get more detailed ones at your hotel.

Too large and heavy to take on our trip; I ended up tearing out all the pages except those directly related to the areas we were going to visit.

Great item, arrived as expected. Thank you!
