The Legends of Nari: Rise of the Agamas by Andrew Adams Review
The illustration is spot on. I appreciate the characters and the action of the story. This is an easy follow, and an action read. Well written!
This is such a fast-paced, action-packed story that kept me flipping through the pages rather quickly. There are so many interesting characters you get to know within a short time, and they all have their own unique desires and motivations. (The thieving ferret is one of my favorites)! Plus, they have the coolest accents! I appreciated the wide range of animals, the ever-changing landscape, and how the animals’ actions seemed to mimic our own with their desire for power, revenge, and even love. I appreciated being able to find a young adult book from the point of view of animals, especially with a hedgehog at the center of it all. I should note that there was a decent amount of violence throughout, but it upped the tension and made for a more believable uprising. Lastly, the illustrations for each chapter are stunning and added so much to the story. I can’t wait to get my hands on the second book!
Phew this book throws you right into a whole new world! It was a fast paced read that didn't drag on or give details til your eyes bled! You get to meet our innocent hero and discover the motivations for his journey right out of the gate. The various perspectives of other characters are seaparated by chapters which gives you the reader a great understanding into the depths of the various perspectives. Definitely a great read!For those wondering, I would probably classify this as mid teen+. There are some scenes of violence that are a bit descriptive that would likely bother younger readers.
This book will dazzle you with it's spectacular descriptive terms and excellent character development. A traveling adventure complete with all its ups and downs, violent clashes between friend and foe with trueness to the emotions and struggles. At times I found it difficult to put down! The artwork is superb and easily lures you right into the next chapter. Can't wait for the next adventure! A must read!
What could go wrong in a sweet hedgehog's life? Try everything. A fun read, with short chapters that allow you to explore different characters and situations. I enjoyed the imagery of the world and each character's accent was a hoot to read. Plus, the illustrations before each chapter were an added bonus that helped bring the characters to life. I look forward to reading the next book in the series!
