Read Online and Download The Cottingley Fairies by Ana Sender. "...an intriguing, enchantingly rendered real fairy tale." - Kirkus Reviews Elsie and Frances feel sad for adults who simply can’t see the magic in the forests around them. If only they could see what we see. In 1918, Elsie Wright and her cousin Frances Griffith photographed fairies in their garden, in the small village of Cottingley (Yorkshire). Without expecting it, many people paid attention—including renowned writer and spiritualist Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. This is the story, narrated by Elsie herself, of the true events that led to the Cottingley Fairies becoming a international phenomenon.

The Cottingley Fairies by Ana Sender Review

I returned this book to Amazon. This was not what it is described to be. The book basically just tells kids it was a lie instead of helping children have their own imagination and opinion. Overall, not a creative or great book.

Lovely illustrations and story.

Sweet

'The Cottingley Fairies' with words and illustrations by Ana Sender is a picture book about 2 English girls who claimed to have seen fairies and have the photos to prove it.In 1918, two girls, Elsie Wright and her cousin Frances Griffith, liked playing outdoors. They also noticed how sad the adults around them were with news of the war. The girls like taking photos and playing make believe and this leads to a discovery that will astonish the grown-ups including Arthur Conan Doyle. The book is kind of a dull retelling, and the illustrations don't serve to spark much wonder. There is a sort of moral ambiguity to the story in which children might assume that it is okay to lie to adults in order to make them feel better.I received a review copy of this ebook from North South Books Inc. and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

This book is based on the true story of two young girls who loved to play in the woods. They especially loved playing with the fairies that inhabited their woods. One day they decided they wanted other people to see what they saw and set out to photograph the fairies.Winsomely illustrated using muted colors this is a sweet story for the younger set. It shows the power of imagination and creativity while working together to achieve a goal. It’s also a vocabulary builder with words like authenticity and distinguish in the text. Utterly charming story for the picture book set.
