Anytime I read or listen to individuals share principle based information in an authentic manner, it allows an immediate connection, with that person, simply because they are sharing their wisdom to help us grow!
Well done. The right focus, for the inexperienced, and reorientation for veterans seeking to get back on track. Thank you to all contributors!
When I think about the book, I wondered about the audience who would most benefit from this memoir/manual.It is a conflict to write honestly and with humility about the what we all have to face. How to manage with dignity and grace. The author learned things as a soldier and he wants others, be they soldiers or just lost people, to try to make their lives feel more meaningful and encourage them to self examination. Judge not. Not our purpose but lifting another is important and may save us all from the smug who tend to get too much mental time. So THINK.I found the book sincerely written and also the objective was to make others "Hold the Mirror up to Nature," as Hamlet says. It is the best way for all of us to try to see tomorrow as another day but also another opportunity to try to get things better. Right is for each of us to decide. A soldier makes many hard choices and lives in constant turmoil and confusion and yet many survive. The author did that provide a way towards absolution and also guidance towards what comes next. It is helpful to serve and then to come home and feel welcomed and thankful. He expresses that beautifully.
Purpose Fulfilled is an informative and very interesting book. Alvin tells his story in a very inspiring way. His life experiences proves that if you stay focus and positive, you can accomplish anything you put your mind to no matter what obstacles may be placed in your path. As he continually says in the book -- if you believe in God all things are possible. Good read for the young and old. -- G
just finished reading this book. I found it to be well written and easy to read. I found the book challenged me to focus on changing my mind set. I believe I can use the author’s messages and techniques for a more fulfilling and productive life. I appreciate his heartfelt honesty about the wisdom he obtained from his military training and his life experiences. He is forthcoming in sharing his principle of self discovery and determination to fulfill his purpose in life. I agree we all need to get out of our heads and stop blocking our blessings. He is right to say developing a serving spirit can keep you focus. If we learn to serve others we won't be stuck. I loved all his bible verses. I would recommend this book for all ages.
